Teleonto Target Growth Through RA SaaS

New offerings from Subex and cVidya in 2010 gave a strong indication that Software as a Service (SaaS) would be a key battleground for RA vendors in 2011. Now Teleonto CEO Sanjay Sharma has reinforced that perception by laying claim to leadership in that field. Sharma said in a recent interview:

Teleonto is the next generation innovative product leader in Revenue Assurance, Fraud Management and Revenue Intelligence. Teleonto has developed a unique purpose-built SaaS (Software as a Service) product that is highly scalable, uses service oriented architecture, massive parallel computing (MPP) and tier 2 commodity hardware for rapid analysis of large size data scaling to petabytes. Teleonto simplifies the Revenue Assurance and Revenue Analytics dramatically by consolidating all the ETL and analytics functions in the appliance directly where data resides.

Hyderabad-headquartered Teleonto is looking to grow its share of this competitive market after a relatively late start compared to its established rivals. Teleonto see an opportunity to focus on mid-sized and small telcos. These telcos are less well served by traditional RA system installations. As noted in the interview, Teleonto hope to secure additional funding to drive their international reach. You can see the interview here.

Sharma offers a plausible strategy for Teleonto. His challenge will be to win customers and gain traction before larger competitors can translate their more extensive sales networks into a dominant position.
