Wearables Security Tests Being Developed by UL

Underwriters Laboratories (UL), the US safety business best known for certifying electrical products, is working on a framework for assessing the cybersecurity of wearable technology. …could range from informative test reports which are less formal, to a more traditional UL certification program which is more about product testing, lab results and a certification.

There are signs that the US government likes the approach being followed by UL. When interviewed about safety and security certification for IoT devices, Michael Daniel, a special assistant to the US President, said:

A nonprofit consortium that would rate products… I find that model very intriguing…
