The Weirdest Revenue Assurance Plagiarism Yet

A new YouTube video has taken plagiarism to a surreal level, by using a computer to read out the marketing description of a revenue assurance book.

Regular readers know I have recently been complaining a lot about plagiarism in revenue assurance, which is difficult to stop, and which I thought had reached a peak of inanity when one plagiarist even copied the cover of a book. But that was before the discovery of the following video on YouTube. Somebody has used automated text-to-speech to create a video that is effectively reading out the content of the Amazon page for the revenue assurance book written by me and a bunch of other people. Occasionally the computer-generated voice digresses from the Amazon text to encourage people to buy audiobooks, even though this is not one of them. It may not be illegal to create a video of a machine reading this marketing spiel aloud, but it leaves me speechless…

To be fair, the computer did a better job of pronouncing my name than Tony Poulos ever has!

  1. Geez Eric, I’m not the only one that can’t pronounce your name right! Some people pronounce it Airick, Earick,Arick, even Erica! As for your surname, what’s wrong Prizekun?

    • Tokrah is one of the lesser-known enemies of Godzilla. She’s a 200-foot long centipede with 200 feet. I first blogged about her after her partial victory in the 1959 B-movie “Godzilla and Tokrah Flatten Downtown Nagoya” and am looking forward to her joining the Avengers following the announcement that Godzilla will soon be added to Marvel’s MCU.
