Benchmarking Leakage Coverage

This week's RAG TV featured revenue assurance managers from different telcos demonstrating how to benchmark the completeness of controls for revenue and cost leakages.

You can either make use of the world’s most comprehensive inventory of the revenue and cost leakages suffered by telcos… or not. You can either compare the extent of your leakage measures and controls to other telcos… or not. You can either work with others to identify leaks you were previously unaware of… or you can try to get superior results by working in isolation. I think my argument is clear, and I have not even presented an argument.

This week’s episode of RAG Television saw two enthusiastic revenue assurance managers walking through the process of benchmarking leakage coverage. Jayaprakash Devaraj drew on his experience of working at Vodafone Qatar and Wataniya Telecom, whilst Kerry Evans shared insights based on her time at TalkTalk and Virgin Media, as well as her first impressions of BT, which she joined last month. Geoff Ibbett shepherded them through the Leakage Coverage Study he created, which is built upon the RAG Leakage Catalog that he also oversees. Regular RAG TV presenter Lee Scargall also shared what he learned by benchmarking across large telecoms groups, and the result was a quick-fire succession of observations about dozens of types of leakages from some of the most knowledgeable people working in revenue assurance. I defy anyone to watch this program and conclude that their telco is already measuring every kind of leakage that we discussed.

Everyone who joins Jayaprakash and Kerry by completing the study will receive a personalized report that shows how their company’s leakage coverage ranks against that of other telcos. Do you think your coverage is in the top 25% across all 25 categories of leakage? Do you want to show your management convincing evidence that they need to increase investment and the scope of your work to start addressing leakages that other telcos are actively managing? Then complete the leakage coverage self-assessment before the end of March and receive a personalized benchmark report as your reward. You might find it easier to complete the assessment by doing it as you listen to the advice of Kerry, Jayaprakash and Geoff, which is why you will also find it at the bottom of this article, immediately beneath the video of their RAG TV episode.
