Majority Wants RAG Summer Conference in London

60% of poll respondents said the Risk & Assurance Group (RAG) should start planning for its first post-pandemic conference.

A poll of followers of the Risk & Assurance Group (RAG) and readers of Commsrisk revealed that most telco risk managers are confident the UK will soon be ready to hold the first post-pandemic RAG conference. Optimism amongst residents of the UK was especially high; this was likely driven by the knowledge that the National Health Service has already administered 36.5 vaccination injections per 100 people. The UK is on course to have protected the entire adult population by the beginning of Summer, leading the government to project the lifting of all coronavirus restrictions by June 21.

Respondents were asked how they felt about attending a RAG conference in London this Summer, and whether their journey would begin within or outside the UK. There was 60 percent support overall for the option labeled “Start planning! I want to come and the worst case scenario is that you will postpone again”. This answer was favored by 71 percent of respondents within the UK and 48 percent outside of the UK.

26 percent of poll respondents were unsure how they would feel about attending by Summer, with more doubt amongst those who would need to travel from outside the UK. 14 percent said they would definitely not attend, of which three-quarters would have needed to journey from another country. The greater degree of skepticism from respondents outside of the UK reveals concerns about international travel. This contrasts with the extent to which Brits feel optimistic about safety within their country.

The poll generated 57 responses in total; 28 from within the UK and 29 from outside.
