Patrick Kinoti, Head of Fraud at Safaricom, showed himself to be a confident and intelligent speaker when we talked during the opening panel of RAG Nairobi 2018 so it is little surprise to find him fronting a slick YouTube video on fraud prevention. He outlines the various ways that Safaricom detects and prevents fraud involving Safaricom’s M-PESA mobile money service, and takes some obvious pleasure in their success at catching criminals. The video is barely over four minutes in length but is unusually informative and gives a good sense of how a mature business should adopt a multi-faceted strategy to tackling fraud. I learned something new by watching it! Perhaps you might too.
