The Cyber Police of Ukraine has released new photographs and a short video of GSM gateways and SIM cards they said were confiscated from criminals and supporters of the Russian invasion. Per last week’s media announcement, more than 250 simboxes and around 150,000 SIM cards have been seized during 21 searches in the cities of Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhia and Lviv. However, few details were provided, leaving it unclear when these searches occurred or the extent of any overlap with the seizure of simbox equipment from a property in Vinnytsia that was reported in June. Some of the seized equipment shown in their newest video, which was uploaded to YouTube on July 18, is clearly identical to equipment captured in photographs publicized last month. There are also many similarities between the new video footage of equipment, cabling and shelving examined by police and the contents of recordings which the police shared in December 2022.
The new announcement says over 100 people were using the bot farms to commit fraud and disseminate propaganda in favor of the Russian invasion. The photographs and video presented alongside this announcement can be seen below.
