Money from Data, Overcoming Adversity, and Chinese Scammer Extraditions: Commsrisk Show 6

Divya Shridhar, one of the brightest stars in the RA community, shared her insights about life, data and success.

Divya Shridhar (pictured, right) was the interviewee for yesterday’s episode of The Communications Risk Show. Many viewers will know Divya as a rising star in the revenue assurance community and an engaging public speaker who quickly raced up the ranks at Tech Mahindra and BT, ultimately taking responsibility for assuring the revenues from all of BT Group’s enterprise customers. Divya was forced to take a career break but now she is back, and we welcome her return to professional life as an independent consultant with lots of advice about how to increase a company’s profitability by examining its data, and how to explain the benefits of data analytics to executives. We also spoke about staying strong when fate knocks you sideways and the challenges she will take on next.

There has been a lot of recent news from South East Asia about telecom and internet scammers being rounded up in large numbers and deported to China. Many individuals who work in Chinese-language scam call centers are believed to be victims of human trafficking. Regular presenters Ed Finegold, Lee Scargall and Eric Priezkalns discuss what this tells us about differences in national strategies for fraud reduction and the extent to which cross-border crime is influenced by language.

Each new episode is streamed on Wednesdays, 4pm UK time, at tv.commsrisk.com, LinkedIn, Twitch and now at Rumble too. Recordings are made available soon after each show has ended. Yesterday’s program can also be seen below.
