ATS Invests in OpenVault

American RA vendor ATS has made a strategic investment in fellow US firm OpenVault. You can read the press release here.

OpenVault specializes in providing SaaS offerings that help broadband providers to manage bandwidth utilization. In addition to the investment, the firms also hint at the potential for more extensive cooperation. The move by ATS confirms that one evolution path for revenue assurance is to add value through better exploitation of the network. ATS celebrated 15 years in revenue assurance during 2010. Forming a partnership with OpenVault shows how ATS looks at the future.

  1. Eric,
    Very interesting.
As hard as I had tried to search wasn’t able to find ANY info re Openvault – when was it commenced, customers, partners, case studies, management, address?
Nor any info regarding the transaction itself.

Linkedin says Mark Trudeau is Openvault CEO since 09/2010.
Under the assumption that ATS is a rather small player with relative humble revenues – one would make an educated guess it is a spin-off – and naturally in the investment landscape the term “investment” attracts far more publicity.
How much of the green stuff had changed hands is another matter. IMHO the green stuff just swapped pockets. But what do I know.
