Jim McEachern is an expert in the governance of the SHAKEN anti-spoofing protocol and an advisor to the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS). SHAKEN is a mechanism that enables a digital 'signature' to be added to voice calls, so the origin of the call can be confirmed by the telco that terminates it. ATIS is a Governance Authority, meaning it plays a vital role in ensuring signatures are authentic.
Prior to working with ATIS, Jim spent 13 years in technical roles at Bell Northern Research and 16 years in engineering and standards roles at Nortel. Jim also served a one-year term as President of the MultiService Forum (MSF), a standards organization dedicated to interoperability testing, and he continues to serve on the MSF Board of Directors.
