Awards for Deutsche Telekom Business Assurance

Deutsche Telekom, the German telecommunications giant, has been acknowledged for their outstanding contribution at the recent TM Forum Digital Transformation World held in Nice, France.

The event saw seven of the 32 showcased Catalyst projects winning awards across a range of communications providers, including Deutsche Telekom, Orange, BT, Vodafone, Singtel, and a variety of Deutsche Telekom subsidiaries from around the world.

Deutsche Telekom, Europe’s largest communications provider by revenue, was cited for three of the seven Outstanding Catalyst awards. These were:

  • Business Impact: Open AI Business Assurance Market Place (Phase II)
  • Innovation: Digital Business Marketplace
  • Depicting Business Assurance Awareness: Skynet (Phase II)

Business Assurance Senior Manager at Deutsche Telekom Group and Risk & Assurance Group (RAG) Steering Committee member Gjurgjica ‘Gina’ Pesheva (pictured) has long been an advocate for change and collaboration in the industry. This is illustrated by the transition of her own job title from Revenue Assurance to Business Assurance. That change in title may seem trivial but it shows how assurance functions have taken de facto responsibility for many more issues faced by telcos.

Another RAG Steering Committee member, Bernice DeMarco, spearheaded the move to business assurance by formalizing the change in her team’s responsibilities over four years ago. Bernice, BT Group Business Assurance Director, oversees a team of over 400 across BT’s global operations. Her function defines the depth and breadth of responsibilities now falling within the modern assurance remit.

Deutsche Telekom are hosting RAG’s 2019 European conference at their headquarters in Bonn on 11th and 12th June. The conference will cover a wide range of topics across assurance, fraud, cyber security, risk management, data analytics, 5G, robotic process automation and more. Gina Pesheva will give a keynote presentation about putting business assurance in the driving seat.

Managers and staff employed by telcos or telecom regulators (and academics who engage in relevant research) may participate in RAG Bonn for free. To find out more, visit the RAG Bonn 2019 webpage.
