Here is a great short talk by Phillip Radley, BT’s Chief Data Architect. Speaking at last week’s Strata + Hadoop World conference in London, Radley explained how BT successfully replaced its old batch ETL process with a Hadoop cluster, allowing them to make better use of huge volumes of customer data. According to Radley, the return on this investment has been between 200 and 250 percent!
