Extended New Version of the RAG Leakage Catalog Available Now

The most comprehensive inventory of the revenue and cost leakages suffered by comms providers is now even more comprehensive, with Geoff Ibbett of the Risk & Assurance Group (RAG) releasing version 5 of the RAG Leakage Catalog. Geoff has been working with a wide range of telcos to update the catalog, with the result that the new version includes eight new threats and 44 newly-identified root causes of leakage. The overarching assurance map (pictured) is largely unchanged although it includes a wholly-new form of assurance: migration assurance. Reporting assurance has also been transformed into finance assurance to reflect the way most telcos are defining this activity in practice.

When asked to comment on the release of the new catalog, Geoff said:

Huge thanks go to both Gina Pesheva and her team at Deutsche Telekom Group for their continued support and contributions to this initiative and also to Bander Aldajani and his colleagues in STC who have shared their experiences of Finance Assurance with us.

It is through sharing our experiences in this way that we all gain additional insight into the risks that we face within our businesses.

If you would like to extend our leakage catalogue with your experiences, no matter how large or small, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me through the contact page on the RAG website.

Geoff has done tireless work to construct and develop a unique resource which is helping countless comms providers to identify gaps in their risk mitigation strategies. However, there is more to come from Geoff as he soon hopes to release the first version of the fraud catalog. This will serve as a companion to the existing leakage catalog whilst ensuring no gaps in coverage because of uncertainty about whether the underlying source of leakage is criminal in nature or not.
