The Fiji Sun reports that Elenoa Biukoto has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer of Vodafone Fiji, having previously worked as the telco’s Revenue Assurance Manager. Ms Biukoto’s LinkedIn profile states that she held the revenue assurance position between 2008 and 2012. This news may not set the world alight, but it is another sign that revenue assurance practitioners can move from a previously obscure niche into the most senior executive positions. In the year 2000 there was hardly anyone employed to do revenue assurance, and the average telco CFO had no idea what the words meant. Less than 20 years later we have telco CFOs who previously were employed to do revenue assurance full time.
Ms Biukoto’s tweets reveal the spirit needed to overcome life’s obstacles. She recently retweeted the following quote from famous basketball player Michael Jordan.
