Herman is the Chief Digital Officer of MTN Group, and sits on the boards of a number of MTN companies, including some of the internet ventures where it collaborates with partners in Africa and the Middle East.
The attendees of RAG Johannesburg will have the chance to hear Herman’s views about the transition from communication service providers to digital service providers when he allows Eric Priezkalns of Commsrisk to interview him on stage. Perhaps he will also take a few questions from the audience!
Prior to joining MTN, Herman was Managing Executive, Mobile Commerce at Vodacom. He has also worked at Standard Bank in roles relating to payments and technology architecture.
Herman’s belief in education is shown through his CV. He is a lecturer on the MBA and Executive Development programs at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) and was on the adjunct faculty of Duke University. He is an engineer, having studied and graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand.
