Mobileum Signaling Firewall Wins GLOTEL Security Award

The importance attached to investing in signaling firewalls was underlined last week as Mobileum won the prize for Security Solution of the Year at the seventh annual Global Telecoms (GLOTEL) Awards, organized by Telecoms.com. This was not the first time that Mobileum’s signaling firewall has been nominated for a security award. Earlier this year the firewall was shortlisted for the Glomo Award for Mobile Authentication and Security, though ultimately that prize was won by Nok Nok’s digital authentication suite. In 2018 the Glomo award for security went to the signaling firewall of Evolved Intelligence, a business that was subsequently acquired by Mobileum.

The other firms shortlisted for the 2019 GLOTEL security award were Colt Technology Services, CUJO AI, Tata Communications and Upstream. CUJO AI received a commendation for their artificially intelligent cybersecurity technology. However, my eye was caught by the name of the entry from Tata Communications, which differed from the others by focusing on fraud whilst seeking to increase profits, by delivering what they described as Fraud Prevention as a Service (FPaaS).
