New Irish MVNO Buys Neural Risk Solution

Neural Technologies, a global vendor of telecoms fraud, assurance and risk solutions, has announced a new contract with an unnamed MVNO in the Republic of Ireland. The MVNO is described as a new entrant into the market. The purchase price was not disclosed.

The MVNO has purchased Minotaur Originations, Neural’s real-time subscriber application risk management product.

Luke Taylor, CCO and Deputy CEO for Neural Technologies, stated:

We spend time working closely with our clients to ensure that we understand their businesses and provide solutions that are fit for purpose and will support their systems as they grow. Our collaborative approach means that we constantly look to build long-lasting relationships with our customers, and as their businesses grow, we are committed to being a part of their ongoing risk management strategies.

As the customer is a new MVNO in the Republic of Ireland, this is likely to be one of Neural’s smaller contracts. However, being a new entrant, controls over subscriber applications will be especially important to the telco. Many greenfield telcos have suffered from lax controls surrounding the acquisition of new customers, in order to pursue rapid growth. Most regretted it later on.

There are various reasons why Neural will be pleased about this deal. The global trend is towards consolidation in telecoms, but MVNOs are one kind of telco that might increase in number. Providing scalable solutions that appeal to both low-end and high-end customers is a challenge for software developers. In recent years, vendors of risk and assurance software have announced few new contracts with Western European telcos. All of these suggest that a successful deployment could also become a useful reference for Neural in future.
