Silent Circle to Offer Blackphone 2, Tablet and More Secure Services

Silent Circle, suppliers of the Blackphone secure mobile handset, claims there is unprecedented demand for encrypted communications following the high-profile theft of intellectual property from corporations like Sony. In response, Silent Circle will release a string of new secure communications products and services aimed at enterprise customers.

Speaking at Mobile World Congress, co-founder Mike Janke said:

Never before have businesses been under attack as they are today for their intellectual property.

An improved secure smartphone, Blackphone 2, is scheduled for release in July, and the Blackphone+ tablet is expected later in the year. In addition, Silent Circle will offer new services, including a privacy-oriented app store, and an encrypted calling plan that works with users who do not own Blackphones.
