The most recent RAG-Subex survey of leakages was the most extensive study of its type, with 185 responses from professionals working for a wide variety of communications providers. Extrapolating from those submissions gave a total global estimate for leakage of USD149bn, which was split fairly evenly between cybersecurity, fraud and revenue assurance issues. All the data was made freely available to anyone who wants it, but the experts from Subex also joined me for a deep dive into interpreting the findings, as recorded for a special mini series on RAG TV. Those four episodes feature:
- Rohit Maheshwari, Head of Products at Subex, discussing how the different categories of leakage compared to each other;
- Ashwin Menon, who leads Subex’s product line for revenue assurance, giving his analysis of the assurance leakage data;
- Nithin Gangadharan, who is responsible for Subex’s fraud products, assessing the worldwide scale of fraud per the survey; and
- Kiran Zachariah, VP of Digital Security at Subex, talking about the responses to the cybersecurity questions.
You can watch all four episodes below, and when you have finished you can visit the survey webpage for the written report and all the raw data.
